Best Website Platforms for Agencies in 2026
A fair comparison of website platforms for creative, digital and advertising agencies: Blutui, Webflow, Framer, Wix Studio, WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco and Adobe Experience Manager.
Agency Life 8 min read

Ask anyone for the best website builder and you'll get the same handful of names. The trouble is, most of those lists are written for a business building one website. Agencies have a different problem.
You're running dozens of client sites, sometimes hundreds. You've got designers and developers who need to work the way they work, clients who want to update their own content without breaking anything, and hosting bills that need to land on the right client's invoice. A tool that's brilliant for one site can turn into a tangle of logins, plugins and per-site plans at 30 or 300.
We built Blutui inside an agency because we lived that problem. So yes, Blutui is on this list. But we've tried to be fair about where each platform fits, including where we're not the obvious choice.
We've grouped the ten platforms by how they work:
Visual website builders: Webflow, Framer and Wix Studio. Excellent, mature tools built for anyone making a website.
Open-source and enterprise CMS: WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco and Adobe Experience Manager. Powerful and flexible, usually with more to build, host and maintain.
Design and AI site builders: Figma Sites and ChatGPT Sites. New, fast ways to get a site live straight from a design file or a prompt.
Agency ecosystem: Blutui, built specifically for agencies that design, build and manage websites for clients.
The quick answer
If you just want a starting point, here's where we'd look based on how your agency works. Blutui fits most of these: developers build in code, and with remote MCP, designers and non-coders can build visually through AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT.
If you are... | Look at |
|---|---|
A design-led studio that builds visually, no developers | Blutui (build visually through AI assistants with remote MCP), Webflow or Framer |
A small agency handing simpler sites to clients | Blutui or Wix Studio |
An agency that wants full control and code it owns | Blutui (without the plugin and update upkeep) or WordPress |
An agency building large, complex sites for enterprise or government | Blutui Enterprise Plus, Drupal or Umbraco |
A global brand already invested in the Adobe stack | Adobe Experience Manager |
A designer who needs a portfolio or launch page live fast | Figma Sites |
A team prototyping an idea or building an internal tool | ChatGPT Sites |
An agency running many client sites under its own brand | Blutui |
How the ten platforms compare
We looked at 15 things agencies care about, from white-labelling and client editing to deployment and plugin upkeep. Blutui is the only one of the ten with every feature built in. The others often get there through plugins, add-ons or specific editions, which is fine for one site but adds up across a client portfolio.

Assessment by Blutui from publicly available vendor information and pricing, October 2026. Features vary by plan and edition. Prices are list prices or commonly cited ranges, cover the platform only (not build or agency services) and may change. Umbraco prices converted from euros.
Visual website builders
These are built for anyone making a website, and agencies use them widely. Where they get harder is scale: each client site usually means its own site plan, seats, logins and billing.
Webflow
Webflow is the go-to for design-led agencies. Its visual designer gives designers real control without needinAssessment by Blutui from publicly available vendor information and pricing, October 2026. Features vary by plan and edition. Prices are list prices or commonly cited ranges, cover the platform only (not build or agency services) and may change. Umbraco prices converted from euros.g a developer, and its template and freelancer community is huge.
Best for: high-end marketing sites built by designers.
Watch out for: per-site plans and seats add up across many clients, and white-labelling is only partial.
Platform cost: US$14 to US$39 a month per site, plus a per-seat workspace.

Framer
Framer feels like a design tool that publishes websites. It's fast to work in and strong on animation and motion.
Best for: design-led agencies and motion-heavy sites.
Watch out for: no white-labelling or multi-campaign management.
Platform cost: US$10 to US$30 a month per site, plus editor seats from US$10 a month.

Wix Studio
Wix Studio is Wix's platform for agencies and freelancers, with drag-and-drop building, code options and a free Studio workspace for managing client sites.
Best for: agencies handing many simpler sites over to clients.
Watch out for: sites are tied to Wix, and developers get less control.
Platform cost: US$17 to US$159 a month per client site. The Studio workspace is free.

Open-source and enterprise CMS
These give developers a lot of control. The trade-off is everything around the CMS: hosting, upgrades, plugins or modules and, for the enterprise tools, licence cost.
WordPress
WordPress runs a huge share of the web, and almost every developer has used it. You can build anything with themes, page builders or custom code.
Best for: maximum flexibility and ownership.
Watch out for: plugins, updates and security are on you, and hosting is separate. Across a large client portfolio, that upkeep is real work.
Platform cost: free core, with hosting from about US$30 a month plus plugins and upkeep.

Drupal
Drupal is a code-first, open-source CMS built for big, structured content.
Best for: large, complex, content-heavy sites for enterprise, government and universities.
Watch out for: a steeper learning curve, and major-version upgrades can mean rebuilds.
Platform cost: free core, with hosting from about US$55 a month plus build and rebuilds.

Umbraco
Umbraco is an open-source CMS built on Microsoft .NET, with a managed hosting option in Umbraco Cloud.
Best for: agencies already working in Microsoft and .NET.
Watch out for: it's developer-led, and white-labelling is only partial.
Platform cost: free core, or about US$50 to US$820 a month per Umbraco Cloud project, with unlimited users.

Adobe Experience Manager
Adobe Experience Manager is an enterprise CMS that sits inside Adobe Experience Cloud.
Best for: global brands already invested in the Adobe stack.
Watch out for: licence cost and long implementations. It's built for single brands rather than agencies, and it isn't white-label.
Platform cost: custom licence, typically cited at US$250k to US$1M+ a year.

Design and AI site builders
The newest way to make a website is straight from a design file or a prompt. Both of these are quick and impressive, and both are still in beta. Neither is built for running client sites over time yet.
Figma Sites
Figma Sites lets designers publish a website directly from Figma, where many sites are designed in the first place.
Best for: portfolios, landing pages and prototypes.
Watch out for: Sites and its CMS are still in beta, and the CMS caps collections at 200 items, with no API, content staging or granular editor permissions. There's no white-labelling and no campaign system.
Platform cost: from US$16 a month per seat. Publishing needs a paid Full seat, and hosting is bundled with seats during the beta.

ChatGPT Sites
ChatGPT Sites builds and hosts a website from a conversation in ChatGPT.
Best for: prototypes, internal tools and simple sites.
Watch out for: it's in public beta with usage limits that may change. Co-editing is limited to people in the same ChatGPT workspace, there's no in-page editing for clients, and it gives an agency no structure for managing many client sites over time.
Platform cost: a paid ChatGPT plan per user, such as Plus at US$20 a month. Sites are included up to plan limits during the beta.

Where Blutui fits
Blutui is built around how agencies actually work: every client site, team member, role and domain in one console, under your brand rather than ours.
It's the only platform here designed for the whole agency, not just the build. Your developers work in code, with Twig-style templates and a CLI. With remote MCP, designers and non-coders can build visually through AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT. Clients edit their own pages in place with Canopy, and each project is tracked and billed on its own, so hosting costs land on the right client.
Best for: agencies of any size running many client sites under their own brand, with or without developers.
White-label: yes, with per-project client branding on Agency Growth and above.
Platform cost: US$39 per seat plus US$199 a month for the agency ecosystem. Projects start from US$29 a month with managed hosting included.
With the same team, you can take on more clients.
How to choose
Four questions usually settle it:
Does your team write code? If not, a visual builder (Webflow, Framer, Wix Studio) or Blutui through an AI assistant will get you further. If you have developers, a code-first platform (Blutui, WordPress, Drupal, Umbraco) gives them more control.
How many client sites will you run? One-off sites are fine on general builders. Once you're managing dozens, one console for every project, person and domain saves real time.
Should clients see your brand or the platform's? If the platform is part of your service, you need white-labelling.
Who looks after hosting, updates and security? Self-hosted tools put that on you. Managed platforms take it off your plate.
FAQ
What is the best website builder for an advertising agency? It depends on how the agency works. Design-led studios without developers often choose Webflow or Framer. Agencies that manage many client sites under their own brand are better suited to an agency-first platform such as Blutui, which supports both developers working in code and designers building visually through AI assistants.
What's the difference between a website builder and an agency platform? A website builder is designed for building one site at a time. An agency platform is designed for running many client sites at once, with team roles, client editing, white-labelling and per-project billing in one place.
Which website platforms are white-label for agencies? Blutui is built as a white-label agency ecosystem. Umbraco, Wix Studio, Webflow, Drupal and WordPress offer partial white-labelling through specific plans, add-ons or plugins. Framer, Adobe Experience Manager, Figma Sites and ChatGPT Sites don't offer it.
Can agencies use Figma Sites or ChatGPT Sites for client websites? For a quick portfolio, launch page or prototype, yes. Both are still in beta, though, and neither offers white-labelling, client seats or a way to manage many client sites over time. For ongoing client work, agencies need a production platform.
Is WordPress or Drupal good for agencies? Both are powerful and free to use, and agencies with strong developers use them widely. The trade-off is that hosting, updates, plugins or modules, and security are the agency's responsibility.
What is Blutui? Blutui is a web development platform built for agencies that design, build and manage websites for clients. It combines code-based development, visual building through AI assistants via remote MCP, a CMS, client editing, hosting, staging and white-labelling in one console. It's based in Hamilton, New Zealand.
